The 2025 Acadiana and New Orleans Proudly Pro-Life Galas united over 1,400 Louisianans to proclaim that every life is worth living!
Gala Keynote Speaker Nick Vujicic, an Aussie-American evangelist who spreads his pro-life, anti-bullying message to governments and individuals across the globe, shared his personal testimony having been born with no arms and no legs. You see, his parents didn’t know that he was going to be born with the rare condition tetra-amelia syndrome and were initially shocked, abandoning him at the hospital. But after consideration and processing, his parents went back and chose to love him. Nick grew up in a loving home filled with support, care, and opportunity. Unfortunately, he was bullied severely at school which led him to not realize his own value or possibility. He attempted suicide when he was only 10 years old. Thankfully, his attempt was unsuccessful. Now, Nick has a wife, four children, and can accomplish all of the things he didn’t think he could when he was 10 years old, like swimming, riding a bike, and so much more! Nick shared at the Gala, “God can use a man with no arms and no legs to be his hands and feet…” and encouraged us by sharing “God has a point to Louisiana as the tip of the spearhead for the pro-life Capitol of America!”
We were proud in New Orleans to honor Troy and Tracy Duhon and the Board of Directors of Giving Hope NOLA with the Robert E. Winn Proudly Pro-Life award for their leadership and service of families across the globe supporting adoption, advocating for those with disabilities, building orphanages, and so much more. The Gala featured live music and fun dancing at the after-party with Dat Band! Click here to browse photos from the New Orleans Gala.
In Acadiana, we were honored to present Patrice Lewis with the Acadiana Proudly Pro-Life Award. Patrice has led the Acadiana Pregnancy Center and Clinic for over a decade and has directly helped hundreds of mothers choose life for their babies. Additionally, the Bienvenu-Smith Fund for Acadiana Pro-Life Education presented their new Bienvenu-Smith Outstanding Pro-Life High School Club award to St. Thomas More High School for their pro-life leadership in the school community. Coteau Grove performed popular hits while our guests danced at the Gala after-party! Click here to browse photos from the Acadiana Gala.
Louisiana Right to Life Executive Director, Benjamin Clapper, shared our priorities for a Pro-Life Louisiana in 2025, including the announcement of the Love Them Both campaign reminding Louisianans of why we are proudly pro-life! He also shared our work and plans to advance adoption in schools and at the Capitol, help even more mothers through our service to mothers, inspire pro-life conversations through our youth education efforts, save babies’ lives through our advertising campaigns and legislative priorities, and help other states like Arkansas preserve their pro-life law as it faces attack.
We are grateful for every Gala Patron, Host Committee member, and volunteer who, through their hands and labor, brought the events to fruition and paved the way for their success!
