400 People Attend New Orleans Night for Life!

Louisiana Right to Life Staff with Jen, Dr. Angela Parise and NOLA Right to Life board member, Alex Seghers

Last week, we had a great event at the Night for Life at St. Francis Xavier. Nearly 400 people were in attendance as we heard moving testimony from Dr. Angela Parise and laughed at jokes from atheist turned catholic Comedian Jen Fulwiler.

Jen Fulwiler at Night for Life

Dr. Parise shared about her upbringing in New York City and why she felt called to become an OBGYN. In her testimony, she explained that the first time she felt convicted to be an advocate for the unborn was when she watched the 1984 film, The Silent Scream, where former abortion physician Dr. Bernard Nathanson performed an abortion under ultrasound guidance.

It was that footage that compelled Dr. Nathanson to stop performing abortions and become a voice for life. He previously presided over 60,000 abortions in his career. At the Night for Life, Dr. Parise received a standing ovation for her speech.

During Jen’s comedy skit she made everyone giggle about motherhood, marriage, and Catholic life but also inspired our audience to keep defending life in Greater New Orleans. Jen explained to the attendees her own conversion experience to Catholicism after living as an atheist for decades and how she navigated through difficult pregnancies that doctors told her to abort.
