Overturning Roe v. Wade

In the case Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health, the U.S. Supreme Court could overturn Roe v. Wade, restoring the ability to protect babies from abortion to the people and their legislators. If this happens, Louisiana is legislatively and constitutionally prepared to protect all unborn babies from abortion within the state.

And if this happens, Louisiana is ready to support women, both before and after birth.

Supporting Mothers

In Louisiana right now, pregnancy resource centers, private and public social services, adoption agencies, are walking with moms and helping babies.

Mothers have access to a supportive community that welcomes them and guides them along a successful path of care filled with counseling, financial aid, legal support, housing, job assistance, medical advocacy, childcare, parenting guidance, adoption facilitation, self-recovery, and much more.

Take a look at a list of extensive resources available to moms in need.

15 Week Fetal Development

In Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health, at the center of the conversation is the unborn human at 15 weeks, which is before the point of “viability”. At 15 weeks, her heart is already beating and in fact all of her organs are formed. She can smile. She responds to touch, curls her toes, explores her environment with her fingers, and sucks a thumb. She has taste buds to experience the flavors that reach the amniotic fluid after her mother eats. Her brain connections formed at 15 weeks last through her adulthood. A number of mature brain structures and reflexes suggest that she can feel pain. She practices breathing and her eyes move. Remarkably, surgeons have successfully performed surgery on fetuses at 15 weeks’ gestation.

She has been human from her very beginning. Does viability really make a difference?

50 years of Roe
has failed women

For almost 50 years, abortion has been sold to women as the empowering solution to their crisis pregnancy. But this so-called solution has only exacerbated their crisis. It has led to hundreds of thousands of women being coerced into abortion. It has left women struggling with grief and PTSD. It has resulted in women suffering injuries at the hands of their abortionists. It has returned women to cycles of poverty, abuse, and violence.

We understand women in crisis pregnancies face real challenges. They are concerned with their education and careers. They may have little or no material or mental support. They may tragically be victims of violence and abuse. They may fear the future of an adverse prenatal diagnosis.

In Louisiana, there are real solutions to help women facing these and other challenges. But abortion is not one of them.

Abortion starves, tears, dismembers, crushes, and kills a human being. The abortion industry profits off this violence and the desperation of women. Abortion is not empowering or compassionate.

50 years of Roe has failed women, but the pro-life movement proves that women do not need it.
