Our first Acadiana Life Fest on Saturday, April 21 was a huge success!

The family-friendly celebration of life kicked off at 8 a.m. with a 5K. We had more than 40 runners in total, including many families and children from the greater Acadiana area. Runners encountered families along the route within the neighborhoods of the saints streets and bore witness to the cause!

Following the 5K, Life Fest began with several pop-up shoppes with local artists, other vendors, and our Life Booths, featuring our Baby Supply Drive to benefit local pregnancy centers. Many passers-by expressed their gratitude for our hosting the event, including one post-abortive woman who teared up upon learning about the opportunity for healing and the impact of PULSE Youth Programs. She offered to volunteer and speak about her experience with abortion so “no one has to go through what I went through.” Through our display of valuing life, several others showed similar interests and were inspired to take a firmer stand for life by getting more involved.

The sound of laughter filled the air as children met Princess Belle and Spider-Man, got their faces painted, and jumped on fun jumps. There is no joy that compares to the joy of a child, and what better way to celebrate life than by celebrating the family.

Hundreds of attendees enjoyed live zydeco music in the morning by Zach Fusilier & Friends, and many were seen Cajun dancing. In the afternoon, Letrainiump shook the stage, ending with their top hit, “So Alive,” which was a musical exclamation point for the end of the festival!
