Louisiana Lawyers for Life was founded in 1991 to join Louisiana attorneys and law school students together to support the legal protection of human life, born and unborn, from abortion, euthanasia, and infanticide through legal, legislative, and educational means. The organization accomplished much in its first 25 years, and we hope to use that foundation to grow the impact of Lawyers for Life.
Louisiana Lawyers for Life is now an internal project of Louisiana Right to Life, one of the nation’s premier pro-life state organizations. Louisiana Right to Life has spearheaded the pro-life legislative work in Louisiana since 1970 and has helped Louisiana become one of the most pro-life states in America based on Louisiana’s body of pro-life laws. The partnership of Louisiana Lawyers for Life and Louisiana Right to Life will strengthen the pro-life cause in Louisiana.
Louisiana Lawyers for Life focuses on the following tasks:
- Provide support for the Louisiana pro-life movement’s legal and legislative efforts, primarily through Louisiana Right to Life’s efforts.
- Run an ad each January to provide a pro-life statement from our legal community. The ad will be run on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade.
- Serve as a resource for various pro-life legal efforts that are needed from time to time.
Membership in Louisiana Lawyers for Life is open to all Louisiana attorneys for a yearly donation of at least $100 to the Louisiana Lawyers for Life Fund at Louisiana Right to Life, to be used exclusively for the purposes outlined above. Memberships for law students require a $25 per year donation. All donations to Louisiana Lawyers for Life will be tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law, since Louisiana Right to Life Educational Committee, Inc., is a 501c3 organization. No goods are services are provided for your membership donation.
