2019 Governor’s Election

Runoff Election: Nov. 16 (Early Voting: Nov. 2-9)

Louisiana Right to Life is a non-partisan organization that does not endorse candidates. When it comes to elections, our goal is to educate the electorate on where candidates stand on life issues.

As we evaluate the two candidates in the 2019 Governor’s Run-Off, it is our opinion that both of these candidates are pro-life and are committed to serving as a pro-life governor.

The following is a review of the two candidates, in alphabetical order:

John Bel Edwards

Gov. John Bel Edwards
• Gov. Edwards has answered our Louisiana Right to Life Governor’s Questionnaire 100% Pro-Life.
• As governor, Edwards has supported and signed into law pro-life bills. Prior to becoming governor, Edwards served in the Louisiana House of Representatives and had a 100% Pro-Life Voting Record with Louisiana Right to Life.

Eddie Rispone

Eddie Rispone
• Mr. Rispone has answered our Louisiana Right to Life Governor’s Questionnaire 100% Pro-Life.
• Because Mr. Rispone has not previously served in an elected office, he does not have a voting record.

We encourage citizens to continue to review the records and statements of the candidates and, if necessary, reach out to the candidates to ask them for more information on their positions.
