Our fourth Lighting the Way in a Post-Roe Louisiana webinar is coming up on Tuesday, Feb. 9th at 7PM! We will be diving into discussion with personal testimonies about the currently most argued circumstances that society seeks to justify abortion: Situations in which a baby receives a “medically futile” diagnosis, and when a baby is conceived after sexual assault. Even in these sometimes difficult and also horrendous situations, every life is valuable – we need to work as a society to provide support to mothers who endure these pregnancies, and we need to recognize the value of that innocent human child and protect their life.
Right now, Louisiana legislation does not protect those who are “medically futile” and we seek to change this. Also, Louisiana legislation does protect those conceived in rape but pro-abortion advocates and some of our legislators want to roll back this protection.

Dustin Bertrand will be sharing his story of being conceived in rape and how he has come to understand the preciousness of his own life and the heroism of his mom. His life and his mom’s life matters!

This first webinar of the series featured Attorney General Jeff Landry, OBGYN Dr. Evelyn Griffin, and Ben Clapper of Louisiana Right to Life, moderated by Alex Seghers with Louisiana Right to Life. We will discuss the state of our current pro-life laws, the upcoming election, and resources and action to address the media and pro-abortion fueled misinformation that seek to threaten our pro-life laws.

Happy National Adoption month! The second webinar of the series will feature Sarah Zagorski, Louisiana Right to Life’s Director of Adoption Education, Lori Arceneuax, Program Director of Volunteers of America’s Adoption Program, and David Scotton, the adopted subject of the documentary I Lived On Parker Avenue inspiration of the movie LIFEMARK.
These speakers have compelling testimonies and have been passionate about dispelling misconceptions about the adoption process. The ratio of abortion to infant adoption has been 100 to > 2. There are a variety of reasons birth parents rarely choose infant adoption, but studies show that misconceptions about the adoption process often deter them from making an adoption plan. Now more than ever we need to ensure women in unexpected pregnancies truly know their options and understand how adoption can give them hope!

The third webinar of the series will feature Kathleen Richard, head of the Louisiana Pregnancy Center Coalition and Director of Life Choices of North Central Louisiana, and Sr. Marjorie Hebert, President and CEO of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
These incredible women will give updates on how our Louisiana pregnancy centers and social services are handling a post-Roe reality and what they are doing for mothers, as well as how you can be plugged in to their work and help. There IS help for pregnant women here in our state and you can aid them with the mission of saving babies and loving moms!
