Recently, nearly 20 students gathered at E.D. White High School for an unforgettable Houma-Thibodeaux Pulse event. They spent the day learning a pro-life foundation, connecting with other like-minded students, and strengthening their commitment to the pro-life movement. The atmosphere was vibrant, as students came together with open minds and hearts, eager to engage in this shared mission.
The day’s sessions covered core lessons on “Pro-Life 101” and building a “Pro-life culture”, equipping students with the knowledge and tools they need to be empowered and informed advocates for life. They explored topics from the science behind life in the womb as well as the human dignity that holds the foundation of the pro-life movement. Each session was tailored to provide students with practical communication skills, empowering them to foster a culture of life within their families and communities. Students also heard from saline-infusion abortion survivor Michelle Smith.
In a world that may try to discourage them from maintaining these beliefs, a network of like-minded peers is essential. Within spaces like this event, students are able to unify under the reality that they are all members of the “post-roe generation”. United by a shared mission, these young leaders formed bonds that promise to last a lifetime. These friendships are a foundation for the future, with each student leaving the event inspired and connected to a supportive network.
As we look forward to what these students will accomplish, we’re reminded of the lasting impact of Pulse events like this one. We at Louisiana Right to Life are truly excited to see the ways they’ll continue to stand for life and inspire those around them! Nelson Mandela said it best when he said “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” These students are armed with educational truths that will last a lifetime. Here’s to a Louisiana filled with change toward a culture of life!
