A new pregnancy center opened Monday in Marksville. The Avoyelles Pregnancy Center, a part of the Cenla Pregnancy Center in Alexandria, offers free pregnancy tests and ultrasounds. Heidi Peavy, RN, is the director.

The center is located at 115 Ferdinand St. Ste. 3 in Marksville.

The decision to open a center in Avoyelles Parish was made just seven weeks ago. It didn’t take long to find a location and get the center ready to open to serve more mothers facing unplanned pregnancies.
