Thanks to the generosity of so many of you, hundreds of families in the Lake Charles area got some needed help with baby supplies in September.
Louisiana Right to Life teamed up with ABC Crisis Pregnancy Center to distribute diapers, wipes, formula, baby lotion, water and more on Sept. 15 and again on Sept. 29. The first distribution on Sept. 15 was held without any donations from the New Orleans area due to the threat of Hurricane Sally, but those supplies were taken to Lake Charles for Sept. 29’s distribution.
On Sept. 15, at least 130 babies and their families received diapers, wipes, formula and other supplies. On Tuesday, lines of cars at least four blocks long waited their turn for supplies. At least 241 babies and their families received supplies on Tuesday! In all, thousands of items went to families in need.
In addition to donated funds to purchase supplies and supplies dropped off at our offices in New Orleans and Lafayette, students at Cabrini, Dominican, and St. Thomas More collected supplies for the drive.
