Introducing Our Spring 2026 Intern!

Hi all, my name is Grace Ostermiller, and I am an intern with Louisiana Right to Life for the Spring! I have been involved with Louisiana Right to Life since my freshman year of high school, when I first attended a Pulse Leadership Institute (PLI) retreat in summer of 2021.

Before attending this retreat, I had no idea what abortion was. I knew that my family was pro-life, and that abortion was morally wrong, but I had no way of explaining or defending my views. I remember first learning about fetal development. How cool is it that embryos have heartbeats after as little as 19 days?? And brainwaves after 40 days?? I was in awe!

After that, I remember sitting down and watching the next presentation, which described abortion procedures. I was absolutely stunned. How could people think this was okay? How could people not see that this was murdering a baby? I knew at that moment that I needed to do something more. That abortion was a grave injustice, and I couldn’t sit back and watch it take the lives of millions each year.

Time and time again, I have watched people who once considered themselves to be pro-choice change their minds as soon as they learn what abortion actually is. This is why Louisiana Right to Life’s mission -to work through education, public policy, activism, and service to protect the right to life, help moms, promote adoption, and light the way to a pro-life Louisiana- is so important to me.

I am so excited to be interning with Louisiana Right to Life, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
