In August, the Junior League organized a 40+ member committee to advance efforts to help organize and collect diapers for families in need. According to their chairman Emily Rodriguez, since 2021 they have distributed over 1.6 million diapers, and in the month of September they delivered 136,000 diapers to 22 Baton Rouge agencies in just one week!

The National Diaper Bank Networks says that many families struggle to afford diapers, and this is especially true for families that live in poverty. In 2022, an estimated 255,159 children lived below the federal poverty level in Louisiana.
This is why Louisiana Right to Life also works to alleviate these problems by regularly hosting diaper drives in Greater New Orleans and Baton Rouge. In the past year, we’ve distributed over 9k of baby supplies to families including diapers, wipes, baby shampoo and formula.
