In what seemed like overnight, President Trump made the pro-life agenda a top priority in 2025 by correcting President Joe Biden’s egregious decisions impacting unborn babies, and their mothers, during his presidential term.
On January 25, President Trump signed an Executive Order reinstating the Mexico City Policy to prevent foreign entities that perform abortions from receiving federal funding.
The administration explained in a White House Factsheet that President Trump would restore Hyde Protections, which prohibit federal funding of abortion and reinstate the Mexico City Policy to stop the use of federal taxpayer dollars for abortion overseas. Previously, the Hyde amendment received bipartisan support in Congress and has been longstanding policy for over forty years.
The White House also said, “President Trump promised to protect and defend a vote of the people, from within the states, on the issue of life. Today’s executive actions build on the long list of accomplishments from the first Trump Administration to support the sanctity of every human life and prevent taxpayer funding of abortion.”
The day before the March for Life in Washington D.C. President Trump announced that he would pardon 23 pro-life activists who were convicted of Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act violations during his predecessor Joe Biden’s term of office.
At the national March for Life in Washington D.C., Vice President Vance said, ‘The March for Life is not just a single event that happens on a frigid January day. The March for Life is the work of the pro-life movement every single day from this point forward. Now, as you all know, the event theme this year is “Life: Why We March” and there are obvious answers to the implicit question it poses. We march to protect the unborn; we march to proclaim and live out the sacred truth that every single child is a miracle and a gift from God.” President Trump promised the crowd, “In my second term, we will again stand proudly for families and for life.”
