Pope John Paul High Student Wins St. Tammany Scholarship

St. Tammany Right to Life recently presented the 2019 Pro-life Youth Leadership scholarship to Claire Worchel, a graduate of Pope John Paul High School in Slidell. Claire received a $500 scholarship as well as a crystal flame statue award.

This is the second year a scholarship has been presented by the organization.

To be eligible to apply for the annual scholarship, students must be high school seniors at a St. Tammany Parish high school (public, parochial or private) or homeschool who will graduate in May. Students must demonstrate that they have been/are a pro-life advocate in St. Tammany Parish and with Louisiana Right to Life. For instance, participation in the annual Life Chain, Pro-Life Oratory Contest, PULSE camp, or pro-life clubs at school or in the community; volunteer time and support to one of the parish’s two pregnancy resource centers, etc. Students must also have a 2.5 or higher GPA.
