Pro-Life Groups Give Away Baby Supplies to Mothers in Need in Response to COVID-19 Crisis

Vehicles were lined up early for today’s NOLA To Go Baby Bag giveaway.

Today, in response to the COVID-19 crisis, New Orleans and Louisiana Right to Life distributed 200 bags of baby supplies to moms in need in the Greater New Orleans area.

Cars lined up well before the 10 a.m. start time outside the giveaway location at 200 Robert E. Lee Blvd., and within 27 minutes more than 6,000 diapers, 10,000 wipes, numerous bottles of baby soap and formula and hundreds of books had been given away to local mothers.

“We are committed to doing what we can to meet the needs of mothers and babies in New Orleans,” said New Orleans Director Sarah Zagorski. “The demand for help is overwhelming. Our social media pages and phone lines have been blowing up with families seeking assistance during this difficult time.”

More baby supplies will be distributed to New Orleans area mothers beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday outside the Louisiana Right to Life office at 200 Robert E. Lee Blvd. in Lakeview.

New Orleans City Councilwoman Cindi Nguyen stopped by to pick up bags for women in her district who did not have transportation to the giveway.

Most bags were gone within 27 minutes of start time.
