Rain Can’t Stop Bowties for Babies Fun!

Heavy storms rolled through Baton Rouge on Thursday, May 9, but not even flooded streets could keep a large group of supporters away from the seventh annual Bowties for Babies: A Southern Style Soiree for Life at the Capitol Park Museum.

The annual event featured music by the Big Easy Jazz Band, food by Bonanno’s Fine Catering (with a donation from the Louisiana Seafood and Marketing Board), drinks, a silent auction and awarding of the 2019 Leadership for Life Award to Pastors Larry and Jonathan Stockstill of Bethany Church in Baton Rouge. State Rep. Rick Edmonds and his wife, Cindy, were chair couple for the event and introduced Jonathan and Angie Stockstill, who accepted on behalf of Jonathan and his father, who was unable to attend.

The event is a fund-raiser for the Advertise for Life project, which uses online advertising to connect women in crisis pregnancies with one of the state’s crisis pregnancy centers. A new video about the Advertise for Life project debuted at the event. Watch below!

Thanks to all of our sponsors, patrons, and donors, and a special thanks to those who braved the weather to enjoy this fun-filled evening and also to those who participated in the silent auction online even though they were unable to attend the event.

The eighth annual Bowties for Babies event is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, April 21. Mark your calendars!
