St. Landry Plans Walk for Life

St. Landry Right to Life will sponsor its 32nd annual Walk for Life on Saturday, Jan. 19 at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church on South Union Street in Opelousas. The event begins at 10 a.m.

A short program in the church will feature special guest speakers the Rev. Taj Glodd, pastor of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Plaisance, and the Rev. Stuart Amidon, pastor of Christ Church Acadiana and coordinator of the Opelousas Crisis Pregnancy Center Project.

The Walk for Life will then proceed to Holy Ghost Catholic Church, ending around noon. The Catholic Daughters will provide refreshments.

This event is open to all, and families and groups are encouraged to attend. Please invite your neighbor or friend from work to come with you. Strollers or wagons are recommended for young children, but skates, skate boards, bikes, etc., are not allowed for safety reasons. A hay wagon will be available for those who cannot walk.

No children under 14 are permitted unless they are accompanied by an adult.
