It is exceedingly grievous when a woman experiences a miscarriage. On August 19th, we all heard the tragic experience of Louisiana Native Kaitlyn Joshua at the Democratic National Convention. There she shared that she received substandard healthcare at Baton Rouge medical facilities. Joshua was informed she could not receive miscarriage treatment because of Louisiana’s pro-life law that took effect shortly after the reversal of Roe vs. Wade in June of 2022.
In response, our Louisiana Black Advocates for Life Director, Tara Wicker, wanted to share her experience with miscarriage, abortion and pregnancy in a video.
