Welcome Hannah, Our New Acadiana Youth Programs Director

By Hannah Guilliam

I am thrilled to announce my new position as the Acadiana Youth Programs Director for Louisiana Right to Life. It’s a role that aligns deeply with my values and aspirations, focusing on educating high school and college students about pro-life principles.

My journey began in high school when I heard a story from a woman who had an abortion herself. It moved me to tears and then I realized I was passionate about this subject.

Afterwards, I continued to do research to learn more and there affirmed my views on abortion. Upon transferring to a different school for my last two years, a friend and I decided to become co-presidents of a pro life club. There, I had my first opportunity to have those tough conversations and educate myself not only for my own well being, but for the advancement of others as well.

We spent our time throughout that year serving in different capacities with various projects and organizations in Acadiana. My personal favorite was our baby bottle drive where by God’s grace we raised $5,000 for Opelousas Pregnancy Center. Leading that group was truly the greatest highlight of my high school experience and I am so grateful to see how God has used it for His glory. My passion has always lied with children and it is unbelievable that I have been given so many opportunities to serve them in advocating for their lives.

Throughout my college career, I have been blessed with the opportunity to be able to continue doing various service projects to further my experience and to continue this personal ministry. My time with A Pregnancy Center and Clinic has been such an eye-opening experience and truly something I look forward to.

I am so glad to continue to work with them in multiple capacities with social media and fundraising. For me, this opportunity represents more than just a career move; its a chance to empower young minds with knowledge that fosters compassion and empathy. Pro-life education isn’t  just about advocating for a stance; it’s about equipping the next generation with critical thinking skills and a respect for life in all its forms. It is a perspective that calls for action and advocacy above all.

In my new role, I look forward to engaging with students, facilitating discussions, and providing resources that encourage thoughtful dialogue on these important issues. Whether it’s through social media, seminars, or community outreach initiatives, I am committed to fostering an environment where students can explore these topics openly and respectfully. Coupled with that reality, the heart of my work lies a dedication to women’s resources.

I believe in supporting women through education, ensuring they have access to the information and services they need to make empowered choices. By promoting these resources alongside prolife education, we can create a more informed and compassionate community that not only makes abortion immoral but unthinkable.

As I embark on this journey with Louisiana Right to Life, I am excited about the possibilities ahead. Together, we can make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people, shaping a future where every individual’s dignity and worth are respected. Let’s build a future where knowledge and compassion pave the way for a culture that values life and supports women during pregnancy and beyond.

I truly feel blessed to have an opportunity to turn my passion into my personal ministry. Heres to new beginnings and the opportunity to make a difference!
