Geaux Forth Rally 2019 was an amazing event! 1,300 students from Greater New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, Houma-Thibodaux, and Acadiana joined Louisiana Right to Life at the gorgeous Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 17 for rallying music, inspiring testimonies, calls-to-activism, and motivation for the March for Life, which was held the next day.

The keynote address, given by Melissa Ohden, was an eye-opening and inspiring witness. As she spoke about her abortion survival, it was clear that Geaux Forth participants were exposed to a side of the issue they have never seen before. Melissa certainly gave our students a deeper understanding of what marching for life is all about.

Forty-five Louisiana Students for Life members also traveled to D.C. for the March for Life and helped the Geaux Forth Rally run smoothly. Colleges represented were the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Loyola University, Tulane University, LSU-Eunice, Holy Cross School, Nicholls, Delgado, and first-time participants with us, McNeese and Louisiana College. We are so proud of our college students for their dedication to life.

This year’s March for Life was an all-around amazing event, with Louisiana represented throughout the program. With a powerful call to action from state Rep. Katrina Jackson at the rally before the March and Louisiana Right to Life staffer Sarah Zagorski sharing her testimony with Silent No More Awareness Campaign at Supreme Court steps at the end, Louisiana made her voice heard as a leader in the pro-life movement.

We are excited to begin the plans for the Geaux Forth Rally 2020! If your group did not attend but heard how awesome the event was, contact Mia Bordlee Mia@ProLifeLouisiana.org to ask how you can join us!

For now, it’s time to capitalize on the inspiring motivation from the March for Life and grow in pro-life leadership in our own communities. The March for Life trip should be the beginning of pro-life activism, not where it ends. All high school and college students are invited to register today for the upcoming PULSE Immersion Weekend in Baton Rouge, Feb. 22 – 24 at ProLifePulseLa.com.
