Actor and producer Kirk Cameron, who rose to fame starring as Mike Seaver in the 1980s hit sitcom Growing Pains, will be the keynote speaker at the Proudly Pro-Life Gala on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020.
Louisiana and New Orleans Right to Life are hosting the event as both organizations will celebrate 50 years of defending life in Louisiana. This special event will be held at the Hyatt Regency, 601 Loyola Ave. It will replace the traditional Proudly Pro-Life Dinner held in Kenner each January.
Will you become a patron for this event? In order for your name to appear on the invitation, please remit your patron reservation and payment by Nov. 4, 2019.
In addition to celebrating our history and hearing from Cameron, we will be honoring our congressman and friend, Republican Whip Steve Scalise, with our Proudly Pro-Life Award.
Louisiana and New Orleans Right to Life are proud to honor Republican Whip Steve Scalise, Congressman for Louisiana’s 1st Congressional District, with the 2020 Proudly Pro-Life Award for his pro-life leadership and dedication throughout his public service.
Scalise served in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 1996 – 2008 and briefly in the Louisiana Senate. During his time in Baton Rouge, Scalise maintained a 100% pro-life voting record and assisted in the passage of many pro-life laws.
After being elected in 2008 to represent the 1st Congressional District of Louisiana in the U.S. House of Representatives, Scalise has been a vocal leader for the pro-life cause. After becoming the Majority Whip in 2014, Scalise orchestrated the passage of many pro-life bills through the House of Representatives. Recently, Scalise has passionately led the effort to pass the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act in Congress.
Scalise never runs from the defense of the pro-life mission. Through local and national media, Scalise passionately and articulately defends his pro-life action.
