Louisiana Life March Events Begin in One Week!

Dr. Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., “Miss Kay” Robertson, the matriarch of the Robertson family from the show Duck Dynasty, local pastors and local and national political leaders will be among the speakers at Louisiana Life March events beginning next week!

There are five Life March events around Louisiana, beginning next Tuesday night, Jan. 22, in Lake Charles. Other marches are in Baton Rouge, Shreveport-Bossier, Monroe-West Monroe, and Alexandria-Pineville.

Please find the march near you and join thousands of Louisiana citizens in a march and rally for the protection of mothers and babies. The events consist of a march for life and a rally featuring music, speeches, and prayers.

Here is information on all five marches.

Life March Southwest
Tuesday, Jan. 22  |  6-8 pm
Lake Charles

Show your love for life by joining us for an inspiring pro-life march from the Veterans Memorial Park at the Lake Charles Civic Center to the downtown courthouse!

Lineup for the Louisiana Life March Southwest will begin at 5:30 p.m., and the approximately 1.2-mile march begins at 6 p.m. There will be music, speakers, and a candlelight vigil on the courthouse steps.

This year’s keynote speaker is Krista Corbello, Southwest Louisiana Director for Louisiana Right to Life. Her talk is titled “Immigrant Mother. Hostile Family. Aborted Sibling, Absent Father. How (and Why) I Survived and Thrived.”

The event is sponsored by Louisiana Right to Life, New Life Counseling, and ABC Pregnancy Center.

Life March South
Saturday, Jan. 26  | 10 am to noon
Baton Rouge

Dr. Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and a strong pro-life advocate, will speak at the Life March South in Baton Rouge.

Dr. King, daughter of the late civil rights activist Rev. A.D. King and his wife Naomi Barber King, grew up in the civil rights movement led by her uncle, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. She currently serves as a Pastoral Associate and Director of Civil Rights for the Unborn, the African-American Outreach for Priests for Life and Gospel of Life Ministries. She is also a voice for the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, sharing her testimony of two abortions, God’s forgiveness, and healing.

Bishop Michael Duca of the Diocese of Baton Rouge, U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy and Pastors Fitzpatrick and Tashanti Pitts of The Church International will also speak at the event.

Lineup for the Louisiana Life March South will begin at 9:45 a.m. in the grassy area of the Capitol grounds near 4th Street and Spanish Town Road. The march will begin at 10 a.m. and proceed down 4th Street to North Boulevard. Dr. King will speak at Galvez Plaza, where there will also be music, testimony and more. A life ministry mobilization area will also be set up at Galvez Plaza to help attendees plug into pro-life efforts in the area.

Life March Northwest
Saturday, Jan. 26  | 10 am to noon
Shreveport/Bossier

Show your love for life by joining us for an inspiring pro-life march from the Louisiana Boardwalk in Bossier City to Festival Plaza in Shreveport.

Lineup for the Louisiana Life March Northwest will begin at 9:45 a.m. in the grassy area near the Louisiana Boardwalk. The march will begin at 10 a.m. and proceed across the Texas Street Bridge to Festival Plaza, where a program will take place and a life ministry mobilization area will be set up to help attendees plug into pro-life efforts in the area.

Speakers include U.S. Congressman Mike Johnson and a number of local pastors and pro-life advocates.

Life March Northeast
Sunday, Jan. 27  | 2-4 pm
West Monroe/Monroe

Join us for the first pro-life march in Northeast Louisiana from West Monroe to Monroe, where participants will hear inspiring words from Miss Kay, who has worked for 30 years alongside her husband, Phil, building the family business, Duck Commander, into a worldwide brand. She is known for her kindness, her sternness in managing her family and her cooking skills. She is actively involved in women’s ministry and spoke at the 2015 National Right to Life Convention held in New Orleans.

Miss Kay will be joined on stage by state Reps. Katrina Jackson and Frank Hoffmann, pro-life leaders in the Louisiana Legislature, as well as U.S. Congressman Ralph Abraham and several local pastors.

Louisiana Life March Northeast will begin at 1:45 p.m. with a short program in the purple lot at First West at the corner of Pine Street and N. 3rd Street. The march begins at 2 p.m. and heads down Pine Street to the river, takes a right on Trenton Street, takes a left on Coleman Street and on to the Endom Bridge, takes a right on N. Grand Street, takes a left on Wood Street, and ends in Anna Grey Noe Park.

Life March Cenla
Saturday, Feb. 2  | 10 am to noon
Pineville/Alexandria

Show your love for life by joining us for an inspiring pro-life march from Louisiana College in Pineville to the riverfront in Alexandria.

Louisiana Life March Cenla will begin at 9:45 a.m. with a short program on the grounds of Louisiana College. The 1.6-mile march, which begins at 10 a.m., will go down Main Street toward the Jackson Street Bridge, cross the bridge and conclude at the amphitheater on the Alexandria side of the Red River, where a program will be held. A life ministry mobilization area will also be set up to help attendees plug into pro-life efforts in the area.

Speakers will include several local pastors and pro-life advocates.
