March for Life This Weekend! 5 Marches Around State; 1 is Near You!

Are you ready to join other Louisiana citizens and march Together for Life? Louisiana Life March events begin Saturday, and this weekend’s weather throughout the state is forecast to be sunny and cold. There are five marches throughout the state over the next two weekends, with at least one near you! There will also be local marches over the coming days and weeks in Eunice, Marksville, Natchitoches, Mandeville, New Iberia and Slidell.

SATURDAY, JAN. 22

Louisiana Life March Northwest
Shreveport-Bosser, 10 a.m. to Noon

The Louisiana Life March Northwest will begin from the grassy area near the Louisiana Boardwalk in Bossier City. (Lineup begins at 9:45). The march will begin at 10 a.m. and proceed across the Texas Street Bridge to First United Methodist Church of Shreveport’s East parking lot, where a program will take place and a life ministry mobilization area will be set up to help attendees plug into pro-life efforts in the area.

Keynote speaker will be Louisiana Solicitor General Liz Murrill, who will join other area pro-life leaders and pastors on the podium.

Louisiana Life March South
Baton Rouge, 10 a.m. to Noon

The Louisiana Life March South will begin from the front lawn of the State Capitol near the intersection of Spanish Town Road and N. 4th Street. (Lineup begins at 9:45). The march will begin at 10 a.m. and proceed down N. 4th Street to North Boulevard and Galvez Plaza, where a program will take place and a life ministry mobilization area will be set up to help attendees plug into pro-life efforts in the area.

Keynote speaker will be Shelley Guillory, a licensed nurse and former abortion clinic worker, who will join other area pro-life leaders and pastors on the podium.

Louisiana Life March Southwest
Lake Charles, 6-8 p.m.

The Louisiana Life March Southwest will begin at the Veterans Memorial Park on Lakeshore Drive (lineup begins at 5:30), and the march will begin at 6 p.m. and continue to the downtown courthouse, where there will be music, speakers and a candlelight vigil on the courthouse steps. Area pro-life leaders and pastors will be on the podium and lead the event.

SUNDAY, JAN. 23

Louisiana Life March Northeast
West Monroe-Monroe, 2-4 p.m.

The Louisiana Life March Northeast will begin with a short program in the purple parking lot at First West (beginning at 1:45). The march will begin at 2 p.m. and proceed to Monroe’s Anna Grey Noe Park.

Speakers include State Sen. Katrina Jackson, Lyndsey Sikes of Life Choices Pregnancy Resource Center of Monroe, Pastor Brian Gunter of First Baptist Pollock, and members of the Hibbard family, who will give their pro-life testimony.

SATURDAY, FEB. 5

Louisiana Life March Cenla
Pineville, 10 a.m. to Noon

The Louisiana Life March Cenla will begin at Louisiana Christian University (formerly Louisiana College) in Pineville. The march will begin at 10 a.m. and go to the Pineville Riverfront beneath the giant American flag. A program is planned, and a life ministry mobilization area will be set up to help attendees plug into pro-life efforts in the area.
