Planned Parenthood’s recently released 2019-2020 annual report shows that it performed 354,871 abortions, which is 41% of the nation’s abortions. It also showed how miniscule the group’s prenatal appointments and adoption referrals are compared to its bottom line of killing children.

The report showed there were more than 41 abortions at Planned Parenthood per every prenatal visit. There were more than 133 abortions at Planned Parenthood per every adoption referral.

Just 8,626 women received prenatal care at Planned Parenthood clinics during the 2019-2020 reporting year. But Planned Parenthood received $1.641 billion in revenue for fiscal 2020 (July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020), which represents an incredible income for one of the nation’s most profitable “non-profits.”

How horrifying it is to remember that this group has  been and still is involved in a number of scandals from covering up statutory rape to selling baby body parts.

Planned Parenthood currently has two clinics in Louisiana: one in New Orleans and one in Baton Rouge. The New Orleans clinic on S. Claiborne Avenue was completed in 2016 after being delayed for so long because Louisiana companies did not want to work with the construction of the facility. Yet Planned Parenthood still does not perform abortions even though the business has applied for an abortion license and states specifically that it wishes to “meet the need” to perform 2,844 abortions per year in the city. But our pro-life Louisiana government has not yet granted the application due to all of the scandals in which Planned Parenthood is currently being investigated.

This report reminds us that we need to be ever vigilant about not letting Planned Parenthood have any victory in our state! Louisiana people deserve health care that does not also commit violence!
